Team Sheepgate Competition Update 2014

It has been a busy start to the year for Team Sheepgate with plenty of competitions. Read on to follow the progress of Team Sheepgate in 2014...

Longdean Rising Star

Sarah was delighted to have been offered the ride on Jo Weekes' lovely mare, 'Remy'. Qualifying for the Winter Regionals at Prix. St. Georges Freestyle To Music in December 2013 meant that Bishop Burton Regionals were in the diary. After a pre-Regionals show at The College, 69% and 2nd in the PSG FSM was a great result. 5th place in the Regional at Bishop Burton was a great starting point.

April 2014 - The College Premier League - Our first premier league ride together and we secured placings in both Prix. St. Georges qualifiers and gained our qualification to the Summer Regionals.

May 2014 - Making our Intermediaire 1 debut at The Sheepgate Tack & Togs Championships was a great show for us. Taking the overall Advanced Championship was more than I could ever have expected.

June 2014 - Sheepgate Premier League - Competing on home ground is always a challenge but two good rides in the Intermediaire 1 qualifiers secured our Intermediaire 1 qualification to the Summer Regionals.

April 2014 - Still buzzing from the achievements of the Winter Regionals, the long journey to Hartpury was made. Once again away from home for a substantial time but Bommel confirmed he was here to impress the judges again! After some over exhuberance on Day 1 costing us a placing, his performances continued to gain confidence and top 5 placings in 3 Winter Championships was amazing.

Sheepgate Bommel

2014 got off to a great start for Bommel with a pre-Regionals music practice at The College, topping 78% in both the Novice and Elementary qualifier, securing his qualification for 2015!

February 2014 - A few days away at Myerscough Regionals turned into a show to remember for a very long time. A personal best of winning 3 Regional titles and a runner up slot in the fourth was amazing to say the least. Bommel was on fire for sure and secured 4 tickets to the Winter Championships.

May 2014 - A last minute entry was made and a 72% was enough to complete his qualification for the Summer Elementary Regionals.

Competing has taken a back seat as the focus on developing Bommel's advanced work has taken priority and he has enjoyed plenty of pole work sessions too.

Sheepgate Ushipower

May 2014 - Almost a year to the day that Ushi was last in the dressage arena competing, his return in May was amazing.  He has been back in work since the back end of 2013 but competing on home ground, and 72% in the Advanced Medium 98 was great. A further class a few weeks later completed his Summer Regional qualification. Being back in the arena on Ushi has definitely brought more than a smile to my face!
